Any Excuse is a Good One

It's been a while since we had a good excuse to get together with family and friends and throw a party that is entirely unnecessary but fun nonetheless. Simon's birthday provided the much needed excuse. We went with the 1-year-old luau theme because the child was born in Hawaii. The weather was wonderful, the company was wonderful, the food was wonderful and the pictures speak for themselves:

Love the cake! You did an awesome job! And I love that he got so plumb worn out that he just crashed. Too funny!

I'm tellin' ya. Even when the kid is dirty, asleep, or upset he looks like a model.

Those invitations are pretty sweet. Do you print them yourself?

So fun! I'm glad to see he got a much-deserved birthday bash for the big numero uno. Kids and dirt. What could be better?
